How it Works

Understanding system design concepts is one thing. Applying them under interview pressure is another.

Timed and interactive

Each question is a timed, AI-led mock interview where you clarify requirements, work through the design step by step, and explain your decisions. You can type or speak your answers and submit when you are ready.

Scored with feedback

Your performance is evaluated on the quality of your responses and how well your solution meets the requirements. You receive a score and detailed feedback after each attempt.

Practice at your pace

Sessions can last between 45 and 120 minutes. You can retry any question as often as you like, and every attempt is saved in your history.

What each interview covers

Every mock interview follows the same five stages, in order.

  1. 1

    Requirements

Start by separating functional requirements from non-functional requirements and clearly defining the scope of the system.

  2. 2

    Capacity estimation

Estimate expected traffic, storage needs, and bandwidth requirements.

  3. 3

    API design

Define the main APIs and choose the right communication protocol for the system.

  4. 4

    High level design

Identify the major components of the system and explain how requests and data move between them.

  5. 5

    Database design

Choose an appropriate data model and storage technology.

Each stage is scored out of 10 and includes written feedback explaining what you did well, what was missing, and where you can improve. This makes it easy to identify which part of your approach is holding you back.

Frequently asked questions
